[Knights of Columbus letterhead] Date July 31, 1919 A.P.O 930 City Treves, Germany My Dear Aunt Eulalie:- I received your letter some time ago and it was very nice of you to remember me. It was certainly mighty fine of Uncle Frank to take out those liberty bonds for me. I certainly appreciate it and will you please thank him for me. I am still on duty here in the Army of Occupation. My job at present is handling German claims against the American Army. There are quite a few of them I can assure you. It has helped me immensely with my German which I have learned to speak quite fluently now. I am now working hard on French but I have not the opportunity to speak it here like I have with German. A regular army officer has at last arrived to relieve me. All I

[Knights of Columbus letterhead] have to do now is to finish everything up to August first and turn the work over. This will take two or three weeks, however, as the majority of claims have come in up to this time. I expect to be leaving for the States a little after the middle of August. I intend to go back and fnish up my course at Princeton. There are some new and big opportunities opening up in the world to-day and it is going to take a fellow with a trained mind to make the most of them. Irvine and I shall graduate in the same class. I shall stop by to visit you and Uncle Frank either on my way home or when I come back to college. Give my best to Uncle Frank, and all of my Pittsburg friends especially
