John Franklin Hardesty Letter to Mother - July 27, 1917

Transcript

On board R.M.S. "Adriatic" July 27th 1917 Dear Mother – We came aboard yesterday am. intending to get away but the government took away our coal so we had to wait over for more. Will probably get away early this p.m. This is probably the largest passenger boat afloat and is a fine one. All the comforts one could ask for but we will probably not enjoy it much for a while after we get to sea Keep us busy feeding the fish I suspect. Will write again if we do not get away soon Lovingly John
