2571 Missouri State Board FOR Examination and Registration of Nurses Know All Men by These Presents: That Clara S. Triplett. has fulfilled the requirements of the law governing the registration of nurses as set forth in the "Laws of Missouri" passed by the General Assembly of Missouri in the year 1909, and has been duly registered in accordance therewith, and is now entitled to practice professional nursing and to be styled and known as a Registered Nurse In Testimony Whereof, "We hereunto subscribe our names and affix the seal of the Missouri State Board for Examination and Registration of Nurses, on this First day of August Anno Domini 1917 [August 1, 1917]. Description This August 1, 1917 certificate for the Examination and Registration of Nurses from the Missouri State Board was presented to Clara S. (Triplett) Hanks. Hanks, born in 1896 in Palmyra, Missouri, served as a nurse for the Red Cross during World War I. After the war she returned to Marion County, where she continued her work as a nurse.
