[October] 26 1918 Dir WC Kohn River Forest Dear friend and brother,- Your lines at hand. I knew you would understand that under the restrictions imposed under the conservation policy we could not print the entire article on camp pastor situation. We have your recent note and shall incorporate it with p.3 of your first article, as you suggest. I am very sorry that you have the same argument over again with some Eastern brethren. Let us keep a stiff back these days, otherwise the boa will be swamped. It would be a sad affair if the year after the Jubilee we give up in principle the entire Erbteil of the Reformation! But that will not happen. You may rest assured that our Synod, also the younger clergy, is thoroughly sound on the Union question, and no matter what may happen, the Lutheran Witness will back you up to the hilt. In the issue just off the press you will find two articles on the General Synod and Council. They may be of some use to you. I may tell you that they are a mere Nailuefterl compared to what we are going to publish in the continuation, next time! Also the paragraph on
