COPY The Lutheran Church Board for the Army and Navy, Chicago, [Illinois] Gentlemen, In accordance with the agreement made at the joint meeting of your committee and the W.L. Army and Navy Committee, held on the evening of [November] 16, 1917 at Chicago, we herewith submit an outline of the plan according to which we propose to co-operate with your Board in the spiritual welfare work for our Boys under the Flag: 1. We propose thru your Board to furnish the Boys with Christian literature and periodicals and pay for all expenses incident there to upon presentation of bills for same. The above Christian literature and periodicals to include the Lutheran Hymnal and Prayerbook for the boys under the Flag, the Lutheran Witness, the W.L. Messenger, a Soldiers
