[Lutheran Church Board for Army and Navy letterhead] Dear Brother: The Lutheran Church Board for Army and Navy has appointed a Finance Committee, whose duty it shall be to keep the work of this Board before our congregations. This Committee is made up of those men whose names you will find on the letterhead. Our Army and Navy Board has asked us to take over a part of its work, which from day to day is widening in its scope. We have declared ourselves willing to assist them according to the best of our ability. However, our success will be a dependent success, for we are absolutely counting on the co-operation of every minister and every congregation within the sphere of our Synod to do their
