THE LUTHERAN BROTHERHOOD OF AMERICA. Another big forward step has been taken by the L.B.A. in its work for the welfare of our soldiers and sailors. The Brotherhood has bought the big Rochambeau apartment hotel in Norfolk, [Virginia] to be used as a social center for our boys. It will be a splendid home for the many hundreds of our Lutheran boys that are in Norfolk from time to time. Large numbers of our boys in the navy have Norfolk as their headquarters so that their furloughs begin and end there. They will appreciate the accomodations which the Lutheran men of the United States through the agency of the Brotherhood will offer them in this Brotherhood building. It will be the center of the war activities of our Lutheran church at this important point. It is situated just one block from the Naval Y.M.C.A. and the purchase was decided upon by the advice of the Y.M.C.A. and the Fosdick Commission, so that they will cooperate with us to make our work count for the greatest good.
