Description | Letter from M.A. Bluemke to Professor Theodore Graebner concerning the prohibiting of using the German language in public and private schools. The author is of German decent and uses passages from the bible in German to illustrate her points. Following World War I, anti-German sentiments rose across the county. Several states passed legislation forbidding the teaching of German in both public and private schools.
