Description Letter from A.A. Grossman of the Walther League Board for Army and Navy to Professor Theodore Graebner. Theodore was a Lutheran Pastor and Professor of Philosophy and New Testament Interpretation at the Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a gifted writer and influential theologian. Throughout his life he wrote various German and English publications including the Lutheran Witness. Graebner helped shape the teachings and culture of the Missouri Synod. Grossman discussed a recent campaign supported by the Walther League to supply soldiers with Christian literature. He asked Graebner to publicize the matter in the monthly publication of the Lutheran Witness. The Walther League was a Lutheran group formed to challenge Lutheran youth to better understand their faith.
