Description
In this photograph of a shelled European town, Ruby Garrett leads a group of soldiers through the ruins on horseback; Richard T. Smith rides to his right. "Old Bob in front" refers to Garrett's white horse. Garrett, a Kansas City, Missouri lawyer served as Chief Signal Officer in the 42nd Division.
