Description X-ray taken by Edwin C. Ernst of base hospital 21 in Rouen, France. This X-ray shows an oblique and over-riding fracture of the lower left humerus. Base hospital 21 was formed from faculty and students from Washington University School of Medicine. Ernst designed his own portable x-ray equipment to help quickly diagnose injured soldiers.
