Transcript
Rec. [November] 8, 1918 at Sea. Dear Mother & Others This is the second attempt Ihave made to write while at sea so I’ll make an extra effort to make this one a success. Ithought at first that perhaps It could give you a description of the sea but it cant be done just a lot of restless water. that at first is very fascinating but after about five days of it you begin to wonder if you’ll ever see land again and you know that once back in the U.S. you’ll never care to leave. However the trip has been interesting and Iam glad Im here but hope it wont be long before we get back. Fortunately Ihavent been sea sick

Judging from the looks and remarks of those who were sick, there isnt any pleasure in it and yet just as soon as any one runs towards the side of the ship we wells ones always laught. Cant tell why the sight is funny to the well one - Will finish later. Love to everybody Will; please send to Mary Mary to Wayne and Wayne return to me Mother
