Dear Mother & Ethel There isnt much to write about and besides Iam mighty sleepy. Life here goes on just the same as when we came busy from day light to dark. Had a letter from Mary last week and one from Claud. Thought Imight either hear from Wayne or else write him but I didnt hear and didnt write either as Ididnt have time. Last night Iwent to Junction City and stayed alnight slept in a real bed first time since August the 10th and believe me Isure enjoy it. This afternoon I think Ill go over to Camp Funston and see what is there - havent had time to do any running around and Id like to see what in this neighborhood before I leave. am afraid Iwont be able to get home either before Iam sent to some other camp. It is awful hard to get a leave even when one has a good reason for wanting

the time off. How did Ethel get along with her typhoid vaccine. Iam glad she took it for it beats having typhoid fever and very few cases ever develop in those who have had the vaccine. Manning has a lot to learn - he’ll get a little of that importance taken out of him when he gets into the army believe me he will for a man as an individual counts for very very little in this game. Better call up the Lankfords and tell them Iasked about them and that I intend to write to them sometime soon. guess Ive written enough for one time and I’ll stop and take a little nap.
