Dear Ethel & Mother got your check as Ithink Itold you and certainly thank you havent had it cashed yet but will in a few days. I’ll send you some insignia when Ican get some good ones these cheap ones we buy dont pay as they come un fastened and the next thing they are lost. Ive been here four weeks this afternoon and if this company is lucky we will be drifting out of here by two and threes in the next few weeks again They may hold us for full six weeks longer

If I have to stay here I’d like to see Manning sent in here - Tho I suppose he will be lucky or rather unlucky enough to be sent to camp without any training. He was so disagreeably wise when I talked to him. I’d enjoy seeing him come in and get his out fit for $200\00 my blankets cot chair and bed roll cost 34.75 and I have more blanket to buy. you can wear some of the quarter master stuff if you want to but it is just like every thing else when you buy cheap stuff that doesnt fit it looks it and feels it too. besides it is cheap and wont stand

the wear any way we are at the mercy of the merchant so had just as well buy good stuff and feel that we are dressed right for it doesnt make any difference. you are going to be held up whether you get expensive cloths or cheap. Well Iam glad Wayne is married. he had to hesitate a long time and I sincerely hope they are happy. Idont know Ella Goodson - and I doubt seriously if I ever will, but that doesnt make any difference, I always hoped he’d marry Olive Gabheash guess that was her name. but thats his business. Its like [ms illegible: 1 wd] said tho marry for love but if you can get a little money
