As General Ansel naturally assumes that the order you approved has issued, I think some notice should go to him that it has been recalled and that the Secretary contemplated that I should at once resume control of the office. I can not report upon the question of the authority of the Judge Advocate General to sit as a Court of Appeal in court martial cases until I can have access to my own library in the War Department. Crowder devised the Selective Service Act in 1917 which drafted America's forces during World War I. |
