| Description | Letter from J.H. McKiddy of the Trenton Republican, to General Enoch H. Crowder. He stated that he would try and make Crowder proud of Gundy County and Stated that he admired Crowder's work. McKiddy also enclosed a newspaper clipping from the Trenton Republican entitled" Big Demonstration for Grundy County." The article highlighted General Enoch H. Crowder and his accomplishments. It also outlined the events that would take place to celebrate the United States one year anniversary in the war including the Third Liberty Loan drive. This document is part of a collection compiled by Enoch Herbert Crowder, the Edinburg, Grundy County, Missouri native who served as Judge Advocate General. Crowder devised the Selective Service Act in 1917 which drafted America's forces during World War I. |
