Description In this letter to General Enoch H. Crowder, Charles Timerman, a 53 year old man, wished Crowder would extend the draft age from 45 so he would be able to work to help the United States win the war. Timerman believed there were more men of his age that would be willing to work. This document is part of a collection compiled by Enoch Herbert Crowder, the Edinburg, Grundy County, Missouri native who served as Judge Advocate General. Crowder devised the Selective Service Act in 1917 which drafted America's forces during World War I.
