Letter to Enoch H. Crowder - January 4, 1918

Transcript

January 4, 1918. My dear General: Upon my return from a Christmas visit to Gallatin, find your favor of the 20th ult . It was a pleasure for me to hear the expressions which were universally prevalent at home especially complimentary to General Pershing and yourself. Northwestern Missouri takes a just pride in the creditable record made by both of you. This being the case, of course you must expect us on any public occasion to pay tribute to our heroes. I am proud of your record and wish for you a full measure of happiness during the year upon which we are just entering. Sincerely your friend, [signature illegible] Gen. E. H. Crowder, War Department, Washington, D.C.
