Dear General: Please accept my hearty thanks for your telegram stating that you have recommended Neal Power to the Secretary of War. You have done me a great favor and have recommended a splendid man for the service. He is a man of pleasing personality and of great influence for right ideas among a certain section of the people here. I felicitate you upon the distinction you have gained in connection with the Selective Service Law. You have become one of the prominent national figures, and as you deserve it, I rejoice in it.
