Letter from John P. Dwyer to General Enoch H. Crowder - June 1, 1918
Transcript
June 1 1918 My dear General: Your order to-day to all Governors is fine. It came when I had almost abandoned hope that the brazen violationsof the classification regulationshere would be halted. If your orders are carried out there will be thousands of changes in classifications in this city and State. I do not think I sent you a copy of my last effort to force here what you now have undertaken to do. This is a copy of aletter to the Adjutant Genarl of Pennsylvania sent him on May 18 last, the latest of a series of efforts to bring about through the Governor of Pennsylvania what you now insist upon. I enclose you a copy. Sincerely John P Dwyer General E. H. Crowder Provost Marshal General Washington D.C.
