324.71 MTA.NIK. April 10, 1918. From: The Adjutant General of the Army. To: The Provost Marshal General. Subject: Data concerning enlistment credits for future drafts. 1. Reference letter form the Provost Marshal General dated April 4, 1918, in which certain information is requested concerning enlistment credits for future drafts, attention is invited to the letter fro the Provost Marshal General to the Adjutant General of the Army dated December 5, 1917, in which this office was requested to furnish the following information showing total enlistments by states subdivided by counties and cities of over 30,000 population within such states: (a) All voluntary enlistments in the Regular Army between July 1, 1917, and a date to be determined. (b) All voluntary enlistments in the National Guard between July 1, 1917, and a date to be determined. (c) All voluntary enlistments in the special and technical troops (National Army) and the Enlisted Reserve Corps between April 2, 1917, and June 30, 1917, inclusive. (d) All voluntary enlistments in the special and technical troops (National Army) and the Enlisted Reserve Corps between July 1, 1917, and a date to be determined. 2. NLK (c) All enlistments between August 5, 1917 and March 31, 1918 in National Guard Organizations recognized subsequent to July 1, 1917 and drafted on August 5, 1917; (d) All enlistments in the several Enlisted Reserve Corps of the Army to March 31, 1918; (e) All enlistments in the National Army to March 31, 1918. 4. It will be noted that the information which is now requested differs from that requested in the original letter as to National Guard enlistments and also requests that the Enlisted Reserve Corps and National Army enlistments be segregated. The information requested in the letter dated December 5, 1917 with March 31, 1918, as the determined date, is being completed and will be furnished as soon as it becomes available. It is impracticable to furnish the information which is requested in the letter of April 4, 1918, without an additional delay of from thirty to sixty days. Henry C. Cabell. Adjutant General.
