No 14 April 15 (1918) My dearest Mother. Just received letters nos 36,37,39,40,41. Theres a big bunch missing in between. 29 was the highest number I had received until today, but they will of course straggle in, in a week or so. B Both duplicate checks arrived but as I had allready cashed the originals I destroyed them. You have probably by this time gotten the letter explaining the address on the cable but I will go over it again. The French cable office refused my cable because the address was not written out. In other words they will not accept a code address. I wrote out the address therefore as you received it.

I got your cable asking for list of things needed but the whole thing is up in the air. Luckily I do not need anything. Nobody knows whose signature is required on the request. By the way Maurys latest address is 91 Aero Sqdn 1st Observation Group A.E.F. France Give all magazines for me the following address 1st Lt P.H.C Air Service American A.E.F. France It is now necessary to writ out the word American as
