Captain S.O.R.C letter to Mrs. Powhatan Clarke - August 22, 1917

Transcript

[Signal Corps Aviation School letterhead] August 22, 1917. FROM: Adjutant, S.O.R.C., Rantoul, [Illinois]. TO: Mrs. Powhatan Clark, Rantoul, [Illinois]. SUBJECT: Permanent Pass. 1. It is very much regretted that owing to the present policy of the school permanent or indefinite passes such as you ask are not being issued. 2. It may seem rather severe but the schedule of the school work and the progress of the individual student suggest the least possible interference with the main object of turning out pilots. 3. If you will kindly indicate a specific date when you desire admission we will appreciate it. MC/HH Captain S.O.R.C. Adjutant.
