Line of Communications Base Commander, Base Section No. 1 France January 20, 1918 Special Orders No. 20 E X T R A C T 1. 1. Pursuant to telegraphic instructions, Hqs. L. of C. dated January 19, 1918, 21st Aero Squadron, consisting of eight officers and one hundred fifty three men, under command of 1st Lieut. Austin E. Gibson SRG AS. will proceed from this base as soon as transportation can be arranged to their proper station reporting upon arrival to Commanding Officer for duty. Upon arrival at destination, the Commanding Officer of organization will report by telegraph direct to the adjutant General, H.A.E.F. the designation of his organization and the time of arrival at destination. If local conditions are found to be such that telegraphic report cannot be made, the report will be forwarded by mail addressed to the Adjutant General, H.A.E.F. and marked

Description Powhatan Hughes Clarke served with the 21st Aero Squadron and the Labor Bureau A.E.F. during World War I. He died from tuberculosis August 20, 1920. These special orders detailed what the 21st Aero Squadron should do upon arrival to France.
