E x t r a c t * * * 1.- Pursuant to telephonic instructions, Headquarters, Base Section, N0.I. [October] 8th,1918,133rd Administrative Labor Co., Lt. P.H. Clarke, Commanding, consisting of approximately 18 enlisted men and 90 civilian laborers, will proceed, without delay, to Savenay, reporting upon arrival thereat to the C.O., Base Hospital No.8.for duty. Description Powhatan Hughes Clarke served with the 21st Aero Squadron and the Labor Bureau A.E.F. during World War I. He died from tuberculosis August 20, 1920. These special orders required the company that Clarke was in command of, the 133rd Administrative Labor Company, to proceed to Savenay, France and report to Base Hospital No. 8.
