Paul Henderson letter to Elizabeth C. Clarke - December 18, 1922

Transcript

[Post Office Department letterhead] December 18, 1922. My dear Mrs. Clarke: I am a little late in writing you, because I wanted to make sure before I wrote you that my letter was based on facts. An intensive effort fails to discover anybody who Heine Thuma may be. I regret that I am unable to give you any information of definite value in this connection. The man many very well exist, without our being able to find him, but it is my opinion that if there is such a man, this is the name which he used only during the War. I wish for you and your sister a very pleasant holiday season. Sincerely yours. Paul Henderson. Mrs. Powhatan Clarke, The Buckingham Annex, St. Louis, Missouri My dear Col. H, your letter of [December] 18 reached me just at the time of the Christmas rush or I should have answered since
