Pursuant to telegraphic instructions, Headquarters [ms missing: torn 1 wd] May 22, 1919, the following named officer having been reported to these Headquarters, as surplus, and whose service is no longer required with the American Expeditionary Forces, will proceed, without delay, from this station to Brest, Finistere, reporting upon arrival to the commanding General, [ms illegible: 1 wd], not later than August 12, 1919, for transportation to the United States: 1st Lieut. Description Powhatan Hughes Clarke served with the 21st Aero Squadron and the Labor Bureau A.E.F. during World War I. He died from tuberculosis August 20, 1920. These special orders told Clarke to report to Brest, France, in prepartion for his return to the United States.
