[Dr. JOHN B. HAWES, 2ND letterhead] August seventeen, nineteen twenty. Mrs. Powhatan Clarke, c/o Dr. Robert C. Paterson, Saranac Lake, [New York] Dear Mrs. Clarke: De. Ragle tells me that the journey was made safely and comfortably and that your son arrived in Saranac Lake in very good condition. For this I am extremely glad and much relieved. I firmly believe that from now on his progress will be one of steady improvement but it will be slow. I have had the X-Ray plates sent to Dr. Paterson. I enclose my statement which I might as well as send now as later. Sincerely yours, John B. Hawes md JBH*MEY
