Dr. John B. Hawes letter to Elizabeth C. Clarke - August 8, 1921
Transcript
[Dr. JOHN B. HAWES, 2ND letterhead] August 8, 1921. Mrs. Powhatan Clarke, Hotel Preston, Beach Bluff, Massachusetts. My dear Mrs. Clarke: You may take it for granted that neither I or any physicians who at any time saw your son were the type of men who could possibly have been tactless of inhumane enough to have told your son anything along the line that you suggest or who could have taken away his hopes for a recovery. Very truly yours [signature] JBH/MEY
