KANSAS CITY, [Missouri] Mrs Lottie Hewitt, 4100 Michigan Ave, Kansas City, Missouri. 1921 Dear Madam, As the nearest relative of Cpl Clyde C. Chilson, who lost his life while in the military service of the United States, you are entitled to the Victory Medal which is now being distributed by the War Department. All that is necessary to do to secure this medal is to sign the enclosed application in the space indicated at the left of application on both original and duplicate. On a separate sheet of paper give us the date, and place of death, together with his army serial number, rank and organization at the time of his death. In case the soldier has died since being discharged from the military service the original discharge must accompany the application. In case you have already made application for this medal please return the enclosed application advising this office accordingly, as to the date you filed application. Respectfully yours O. W. He served with Battery B, 129th Field Artillery, 35th Division. Pinkston informs Lottie Hewitt that she is entitled to the Victory Medal as the nearest relative to Chilson. |
