[Veterans Administration letterhead] November 30, 1939 YOUR FILE REFERENCE: IN REPLY REFER TO: FCB CHILSON, Clyde C. XC-64,111 Mrs. Lottie Hewitt, 404 West Imperial Highway, Los Angeles, California. Dear Madam: This will acknowledge receipt of your communication of November 20, 1939, in reference to the benefits of the World War Adjusted Compensation Act, commonly called bonus. The Act provides if a veteran dies prior to filing his application, the adjusted service credit is payable to his dependents in the following order of preference: widow, if she has not remarried prior to filing application, children, mother, father. There is enclosed herewith a Form WWC-1 which the preferred dependent should execute and forward to the Adjusted Compensation Branch, Adjutant General

Description Letter from the Veterans Administration to the sister of Clyde Chilson, Lottie Hewitt, concerning the World War Adjusted Compensation Act. Clyde Chilson, died on October 16, 1918 during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He served with Battery B, 129th Field Artillery, 35th Division.
