| Description | Letter from Florence A. Angell of the American Red Cross in France writing to Lottie Hewitt that the Red Cross laid Christmas greens on the graves at Mars-sur-Allier. One of these graves belonged to Lottie's brother Clyde Chilson. Clyde Chilson died on October 16, 1918 during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive after a gas attack. He served with Battery B, 129th Field Artillery, 35th Division. Pinkston informs Lottie Hewitt that she is entitled to the Victory Medal as the nearest relative to Chilson. |
