this is me C.C.C. [sketch of soldier] Dear Sister I received your letter the other day and was sure glad to hear from you and that Everyone was Ok. I am Just fine and couldnt feel any better I am sure glad to hear that Venice is doing so nicely and tell her that her uncle is for her. but be sure and take her mothers advice. for if she only new and saw what I have seen she would be only to glad to take your advice. You ought to see what the Poor woman of France have to go through with you folks no nothing. Well I must not say to much or I will not have any letter left. there is lots of things I would like to say, but we have to say but little about thing as possible. but I will keep you fussy when I come Home. I have bin in charge of a detail burrieing Horses. Just like old times remember Ha Ha Old Charley. I sent you a little suveriner I Hope it gets there ok. Description Letter from Clyde Chilson to his sister. He is stationed somewhere in France and discusses his inability to disclose much information to her. Clyde Chilson died with honor on October 16, 1918 during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He served with Battery B, 129th Field Artillery, 35th Division.
