[The Lake Torpedo Boat Company letterhead] DATE [December] 7, 1918. Mr. James R. Harris, c/o New Willard Hotel, Washington, D.C. My dear Mr. Harris: - Pardon the delay in answering your kind letter of November 27th. I thank you for all you and Mr. Rotter did when I was suddenly taken ill in Washington and I assure you that I have appreciated it very much. I have fully recovered now although I do not feel quite as "peppery" as I was before I was taken ill but I suppose I will get along better as time goes on. I am leaving this evening for St. Louis to witness the official test of the first S-2 engine. I am having the unmounted photographs made for Mrs. Harris and I will have them sent to St. Louis as soon as ready. We have sent one set of mounted pictures to Miss Harris, as verbally stated to you, but we do not know whether she has received them or not. We have not at this writing received a memo of conference dated November 21, 1918, as per Mr. Rotter's letter of December 2nd. I would suggest, therefore, if you can arrange it, that you have a copy made and sent to me so that I can check all items against the Bureau's letter of November 1st, which was sent to you with our letter of November 8th. This matter should be cleared up so that we all know definitely where we stand. With kindest regards, I remain, Yours sincerely, J. Barraja Frauenfelder JBF:VK
