like to try the calvary. You can’t tell where you will go. Just go where they put you, and have no say coming. It tickles me the way they examine us. We were examined this morning for the teeth & throat, and they OK’d me before I could get my mouth open and thats the same on every thing else. I see lots of kids I havn’t seen for several years; there is one little kid from Funston in this Co by the name “Drummond” says he knows Nig. Well, dear Mother I’m well & still able to kick. Pie & sweets are rare Mabel, as you wanted to know it I get any in the army. The change is good for me tho. Well the lantern in going day so I must close. Write when you have time. With worlds of love to all your loving son Gene.
