Bribach, Carrie Collection
Carrie P. Bribach was an art teacher at the Mary Institute in Carondelet, Mo. She attended the National Service School between 1916 and 1917. Organized by the Women’s Section of the Navy League, the National Service School supported patriotic causes and endorsed military preparedness after the sinking of the RMS Lusitania in 1915. The Women’s Section of the Navy League was the first national women’s preparedness organization and contrasted sharply with pacifist and peace movements that were popular women. The Bribach Collections includes a diary she kept at the National Service School, photographs, and a few newspaper clippings.
