[September] 22, 1918 Dear Folks: - Have not had much time to write - received your letters of Aug. 18th & 21st - sure did enjoy reading them - am glad you know where we are - would love to tell you of our travels and just where we are but it would not pass the censor - had the pleasure of getting your letters on the march so they helped me to march longer - have never received my birhtday letter - may get it some day soon - yes I think I will be back before another birthday passes - did not know of Moyers death till I read your letter - sorry to hear it - he looked awfully bad when he left us - I thot he would not live long - we

had heard that he had been dis-charged and sent back to U.S. - had a card from cousin Minnie Kirk - tell her I was sure glad to get it and will answer it the first chance I get - am looking all the time trying to hear of the 89th Division or the 88th the one Paul is in - would like to run across Paul 0 the Allies are makin gthings hot for Fritz - Col. Clark has been assigned to the 88th Division - sorry to see him leave us - saw picture from [Kansas City] Post of Lieut. Duggan - he was adjutant of our batallion - he lives in [Kansas City] - sure some fine fellow - saw where he was in [Kansas City] on a few days leave - Ruth I guess is to her school - where, I don't know - I hear

some more of the teachers has resigned - must be having some time getting teachers - hear Anna [MS illegible: 1 wd] is to work in the bank - what bank is it? - have not had any papers lately - expecting some any time - had a card from Maurice M - he was in [Colorado] Springs - have never seen Wick - he is in 33rd Div. would like to run across him - weather here is cool and rains a great deal - htere is scarecely no sickness in the company at all - sure am glad of it - hope all of you are well - I am feeling as fine as ever -
