[October 29, 1918] "Same Dugout" Dear Folks:- Have a little spare time this morn so will write you - am expecting a letter today as I hear some mail came in yesterday - hope I get a letter from you - Say I subscribed for the "Stars & Stripes" to be sent to you - I think it is published and sent out from Paris each Friday - it is a fine paper and gives you an idea of what we are doing over here - let me know if you get it - oh yes forgot to tell you I have a mustache - what do you think of that? - sure is a daisy - wish I could get a picture of myself so I could send it to you that you might have a laugh over it - having fine weather here and I hope it continues as every day's good weather is in our favor - we have Fritz going and will keep him that way as long as we can go - of course bad weather would make going very slow - leaves are beginning to drop - had a big frost last nite - we sure have a fine place to stay an I hope we can spend the winter in
