Rupt - near St. Mihiel, France [November] 26 1918 Dear Folks:- Well will write a few lines - don't know much news but I always write - I am feeling fine - the weather here is cool and we are having rain - lots of the boys that were wounded in the drive are returning to their companies - dont know just who of the "G" boys have returned - they are in a different town from me - but I see some of them most every day - all seem to be feeling fine - received a letter from you dated [October] 28th sure glad to get it - yes, our fight was fierce - but we fought on and on and Fritz running all the time - never gave him a chance to stop - the censorship is not entirely lifted - I presume before long it will be done away with - the first 14 days of the armistice is passed - it seems as if Germany is meeting all conditions - they sure tied her hands forever -

Marshal Foch is some great man - he sure is the man for the place - he has tied Germany's hand and feet - she will never again be what she was - of course we do not know when peace will be signed - I see Pres. Wilson is coming over about the first of [December] - see where they are mustering out forces in the States - suppose they will be shipping troops back home before long - will not move many until peace is signed - well I dont know much news - will write as often as I can - we are doing light drill - am hoping we get to go into Germany - sure would be fine - hope all of you are feeling fine - Thanksgiving will soon be here - tell everyone hello - write when you can - will close - Bye Bye Love to all Your loving son, Kirk.
