[November] 2nd 1918 Dear Folks:- It is raining here today - the first in several days - maybe winter has commenced - I sure would like to see a month's more pretty weather - a month's driving now would help out - would put Fritz further back to where he belongs - the Allies are doing some great work and the war looks good for the Allies - well I have some good news for you - I have now earned the right to be called a Captain - received my promotion today - I have been assigned to "K" Company - Cecil also was promoted to Captain and assigned to "H" Company - I will do my best to make good - sure hated to leave old "G" and the boys- Milligan is still with them - my mail address will be:- Capt. R.K.Brady Co. "K" 140th Inf. Am. E.F.

your own business but have been doing your share in U.S. work - am glad you are and when victory is won parts of the glory is yours - I am feeling fine - not much sickens at all in our regiment - have never heard of a case of the influenza over here - hope all of you are OK - give my best to everyone - will close - Ruth was OK - said her school work was fine and she was enjoying it and working hard - Bye Bye - Lots of love to all, Your loving osn, Kirk- P.S. - Tell Honey and Allan to work hard at school - Allan, hows football - Honey, who is your fellow?
