Boncourt, France [March] 2nd 1919 Dear Folks:- I believe good news has at last come - it seems as if within the next few days we will be on the road to the coast - sail next month for the good old U.S.A. - unless our orders are changed that is correct - don't look for me till I get there - you can never tell what time orders will be changed - here's hoping this one remains - I have never been able to get Allan the helmet - am still trying - weather today is cludy and damp - we will be very busy from now on getting everything in shape - new equipment for the men and all paperwork up - not drilling much now - just enough t ogive us exercise - having quite a bit of athletics - Farris was over last nite - also Col. Linxiler & Mabrey - quite a gathering.

not much more news - hope all are well - I am feeling fine, getting fat as a pig - army life sure has agreed with me - hope the "flu" has subsided - it is nearly dinner time - sure am hungry as I didn't get up for breakfast - tell everybody hello - will write you a longer one next tine - just wanted to let you know the news - hope it is so - hope to see you in May - Lots of love to all, Your loving son, Kirk. P.S. Enclosing (2) 50 centimes notes - each is worth about 10 [cents] - call them 1/2 franc notes - franc now is worht about 17 1/2 [cents] Kirk
