June 17th 1918 Dear Folks: - Has been raining all day - very unpleasant when you are out in it - a long gloomy day which makes a person feel bluey - I am getting along fine - manage to keep busy most of the time and thereby keeping the blues far away from me - boys are all feeling fine - we are all having a good time - how is business - hope it is picking up - mail here is sure scarce - it seems so

I correct address funny when you are used to getting mail every few days - it is quite disappointing but we make the best of it - what is the news around the old town - taking out many of the boys to the army - say I have deposited some money in a bank over here - Cox & Co. "U.S. Army" Branch Bank of England - London, England - have about $70 00 or $80 00 there- tell you in case of "safety first" - Liberty Bond pays out in July $250 00 with interest - dont forget my insurance out next month - no doubt we will

soon be doing our bit in the world struggle - I hope all of you are well and enjoying life as good as I am - tell all my friends hello - tell Miss Bertha I will write her soon - must close and eat supper - am anxiously waiting for some mail - hope tomorrow brings it - I will try to write as often as I can - give every body my best regards - hows all the children - Allen on the farm I guess - know honey is working
