June 1st 1918 Dear Folks Received letters from you dated [April] 24; May 1st; [April] 21st sure glad to get them. Mail is scarce getting. these letters were all addressed to Camp Mills. am glad to hear that Bates has gone. also that the people have woke up to the fact that we are at war - if they were over here they would soon know it - we are having fine weather and having a good time. had a hard time making out who Mary & the baby were - one of the boys told me about Curly being papa so I understood. if I had heard it before I had forgotten it. guess it won't be long till Curly will have to go to war - hear Bob Hughes has gone to Jefferson Barracks. John Jacobs joined the Navy. Well I guess they

will have all the boys soon. the sooner we al lget into action the sooner the war is over. do not hera much war news here - Cecil is back with the Co. - came in yesterday. had inspection this morn - go to the creek this afternoon to take a bath. hope to get a chance to visit Paris soon. dont know as we are very busy training. all the boys getting along fine. don't know any news at all - am feeling fine and hope to get into action soon. I sure had some trip up at the front - told you about it in my last letter - enjoyed it fine - it is about dinner time so must close - hope all are well - write any time you can - I sure enjoy your letters - Love to all Your loving son Kirk.
