Boncourt, France - [February] 25th 1919 - Dear Folks:- Received your letter of [February] 6th and as usual was more than delighted to get it - it is raining today and we have had no drill - weather has been rainy for quite awhile - well yo usay we are coming home in March - I am afraid you are mistaken - we have never moved from here and the troops usually stay 6 weeks at Le Mans before sailing - we have been thinking we were going there for the last two weeks but as yet we have not - I think we are going to move somewhere within the next 2 weeks I think May or June will find us in the States - sure hope so, I believe I told you Col. Linxwiler was in command of our brigade - well mother those chickens will be about "ripe" when I get home - been

a long time since I have tasted fried chicken - yes, I had a letter from Elizabeth the other day - can't be bothered with it - am going to wait till I get home and look the field over and pick one out - isn't that the best way - what is Allan going to do this summer? I sure want to get back to business and make some money - want to get a start in life and live the rest of my days in peace - I sometimes think I would like to go to college - of course I am so unsettled now don't know just what to do - best thing I guess is to stay with Dad and both of us make some money - I know we can do it - say Dad try to connect up wit ha good loan company - who is Perry Roberts connected with? - does he still make a good many loans? -

well you know competition makes business all hte better - we will just work that much harder - Is there any chance of taking over the Trust Co. loan business - sure be a big thing to hook in with them - where di you depoist my money? Savings Bank I guess - well I was up the Argonne the other day - sure had a great trip - saw Phelp's grave also Lieut Scotts - both are buried newar each other - sure is a desolate looking place - trees all shot down and graves everywhere - can never see how we got out without being hit - am glad there are no more such battles to go thru - I am feeling fine - hope all of you are - have never been able to get a helmet for Allan - am still trying - know of no more news - will close - hello to everyone, Lots of love to all, Your loving son, Kirk,
