[Y.M.C.A. letterhead] [February 11, 1919] Dear Folks:- Well I am back on my way to the regiment - left Nice Sunday morn arriving in Paris [Monday] morn - stayed in Paris till this morn - am now at Bai - le - duc - will leave here to-morrow afternoon for Commercy arriviing at the regiment about 4 00 p.m. - am not due back till midnight of the 13th but "francs" were running low so came back a day sooner - sure had a nice trip and would not have mised it for hte world - Nice is the prettiest place I ever visited - bought lots of postal cards of different views - will keep them till I can bring them to you - sure hated to leave the place - am now patiently waiting for orders "homeward bound" which I hope are not far off -

hope to have "beaucoup" mail waiting for me upon my return - am feeling fine - did not get a chance to have my picture taken with my mustache - am thinking of shaving it off "toot sweet" - guess Allan can explain the French - Paul was down to Nice on leave and we saw each other several times - was sure glad to see him - met him on the street and could hardly believe my eyes - we spent several enjoyable hours together - am hoping to soon see you - no news - am at a officers Y.M.C.A. club writing - weather here is cold and snow and ice on the ground - at Nice it was sunny and warm - quite a difference - hope all are well -will write yo uagain when I get back to the company - goodnite - Lots of love to all, Your loving son, Kirk.
