[December 9, 1918] Dear Folks:- Will drop you a few lines - been rather busy lately - still near Commercy - have a good billet - have received no mail lately - think we will tomorrow - Milligan & Farris got back - they report a fine trip - worth seeing they say - as soon as I get enough francs saved up I intend to take a trip to Paris, Nice etc - sure a grand trip they say - wish you could see my moustache- am trying to save it till I get my picture taken to

send you one- bet you would have some big laugh - how are you all? hope you are as well and happy as I am - I sure do feel fine - war is over and no more fighting and staying in trenches is enough to make one happy - guess Ruth is counting the days till she gets home - don't blame her - I am too but have a few more to count than she has - ha! ha! - we are drilling but not very long hours - Paul is close to me but don't know where - am trying to locate him - had a letter from him saying he was OK - weather here is still cool and damp - not so very cold - but stamps awfully damp - guess Pres. Wilson is getting close to France - hope he soon signs peace - hope all of you have a happy Xmas - I know I will - tell Honey to have a big one - want all of you to spend a happy Xmas and have a good time - it wont e so long till I will be back -
