Boncourt, France [December] 28th 1918 Dear Folks:-Just recieved 2 letters from you dated [December] 11 & 12th - mail service is sure getting lots better - that is some quick time been raining nearly all day - it stays cloudy & damp most all time - I wil lsee what I can find out about the Maddux boy - I will see his captain and see what record he has on him - of course there are many mistakes made and unless you are very careful you are apt to report them incorrectly - whenever they are not sure they are reported as missing - I was elated over peace as much as any one but in those letters I was not quite sure place had some - I was over here where I could see the real stuff - I hate to hear of so many deaths - seems as if lots of people are dying - that disease seems to be fatal - you all be careful and ont get it -
