August 10th 1918 Dear Folks: - Received your letter of July 11th - sure glad to get it - also received teh Masonic Diploma which I apprecdiate very much - sure is a handy thing. thanks very much - you are not ahead of me any eating ripe tomatoes - we have had 3 meals of them right in the front line - can you beat that - had a fine letter from Aunt Mag - sure was fine - Tell her I will answer it some time soon - No, Capt McQueen was not badly hurt - think he is about OK now - also received your letter of July 4th - Mr. Farris sure is pushing things - am glad he has the nerve to go ahead - he deserves lots of backing - we are all for him - saw in the paper one of my letters - also one of Johnnie's - didn't know it was to be published - I sure am feeling fine and am safe and sound so don't worry at all - things will be OK in the long run - boys are feeling fine - but will all be glad when the Kaiser is hung by the neck and all have a shot at him - guess election

is over and people are discussing the results - hope Morton beat "hell" out of Maddox - will be glad when we hear - be sure to send all news on the election - it is rather chilly here we are up in the mountains - rains a little - will now stop for awhile to eat my midnight meal - just finished my meal- had steak, French fried spuds and toasted bread - hows that - the Germans are not so mean these days, are they? they just needed a few American bullets and bayonets in them - don't know much news - am feeling fine - don't worry any for I will be OK - hope all of you are as well as I am - Love to the kids - tell everyone hello - Must close - Goodnite, Lots of love to all, Your loving son Kirk OK RK Brady 1st Lieut 140th Inf.
