Bell, Henry Papers
Henry Bell, a native of Salisbury, Mo., was inducted into the army on October 26, 1917, at the age of 23. He served with Company I, Colored Regiment at Camp Funston, Kansas, until December 4, 1917, when he was transferred to Company D, 317th Ammunition Train. Bell served overseas from June 15, 1918 - February 28, 1919, and achieved the grade of corporal in October 1918. He was discharged from the army at Camp Zachary Taylor, Ky., on March 25, 1919. This collection includes official documents related to Bell’s service.
