Description | Contents from a shadow box commemorating Hal Irwin. Contents include telegraphs, obituary, correspondence, certificate of death, and registration certificate of Hal Irwin. Irwin was a Sergeant of the 360th Infantry, Headquarters Company. Irwin was killed on September 12, 1918 during the campaigns in France when he was hit by a German shell after leaving his observation post to telephone the Artillery Commander to warn him of position of enemy batteries. The American Legion post in Cassville, Missouri was named in honor of him. |
